Living at Southern Illinois University 

We offer a variety of on-campus housing options, including residence halls, apartments and specialty communities.  

First-year students typically live in the East Campus or Thompson Point residence halls. These residence halls have fully furnished rooms, dining plans, internet and other amenities.  

Upperclassmen and graduate students can choose from on-campus apartments like the Evergreen Terrace and Elizabeth Apartments.  

Your housing options

These can be found in the East Campus and West Campus.

All rooms come with the following amenities, unless otherwise stated: 

  • Twin XL beds with extra-long mattresses 

  • Desks and chairs 

  • Dressers or built-in drawers 

  • Closets or wardrobes 

  • High-speed wireless internet 

  • Air conditioning and heating 

  • Cable TV 

  • Private or semi-private bathrooms  

The three on-campus apartment complexes are the Evergreen Terrace, Wall & Grand Apartments and the Elizabeth Apartments.

All rooms come with the following amenities, unless otherwise stated: 

  • Private bedrooms 

  • Full kitchens (with stoves and refrigerators) 

  • Living rooms/common areas 

  • Air conditioning and heating 

  • Wi-Fi 

  • Laundry facilities (either in-unit or on-site) 

  • Window coverings (blinds)
